UD96 Full-Aluminum COB Downlight
Deep Fin Heat-Sink Radiator · Compact 75/90mm Cut-Out

The UD96 is a full die-cast aluminum COB downlight built for concentrated, high-density beams in a small aperture. A single COB chip sits on a machined aluminum housing, backed by a finned aluminum radiator that pulls heat out through the deeper can — the kind of thermal design a buyer looks for when specifying accent or feature lighting rather than general ambient fill. Offered in 7W and 12W, with OEM/ODM support for importers and lighting distributors.

Built for Concentrated Beams, Not Flat Fill Lighting

A sourcing manager specifying accent or spotlighting checks a different set of things than for a flat ambient downlight: beam concentration, thermal headroom at higher wattage, and how consistent the housing is across a production run.

Full Aluminum Body

Die-cast aluminum trim and housing give higher thermal conductivity than plastic-coated composites, well suited to the higher current density of a COB source at 7W and 12W.

Single COB Light Source

A single COB chip emits from one continuous surface, giving a smoother, more concentrated beam with less multi-shadowing than a multi-point SMD array — a common ask for spotlighting and display.

Finned ALU Radiator

The extended radiator fins at the rear of the housing pull heat away from the COB junction, protecting lumen maintenance and color stability over the rated 15,000-hour life.

Compact Cut-Out, Deep Can

A small 75mm or 90mm cut-out keeps the visible trim discreet, while the deeper housing behind the ceiling line gives the radiator room to work — plan for ceiling void clearance at spec stage.

What’s Inside the Fixture

Three components a technical buyer usually asks about before approving a spec sheet.

ALU Housing

Machined aluminum trim with spring-clip mounting arms and a reflective interior cone that shapes the beam without the diffusion layer used on flat SMD downlights.

COB Chip

A single chip-on-board light source mounted at the throat of the reflector cone, producing a tighter, more directional beam suited to accent and task lighting.

ALU Radiator

A finned aluminum heat sink extends behind the light engine into the ceiling void, giving the fixture the thermal mass needed to run a COB chip reliably at 7W–12W.

COB vs. SMD — Which One Your Project Needs

Why COB for This Fixture

Chip-on-board packs the light-emitting die onto a single small surface, producing a more concentrated, glare-controlled beam than a multi-point SMD array of the same wattage — the reason COB is the default choice for spotlighting, retail display and accent lighting rather than flat ambient fill.

What It Means for Installation

Concentrating output onto one chip also concentrates heat, which is why UD96 pairs the COB source with a full aluminum housing and a deeper finned radiator rather than the slim plastic-coated body used on flat SMD panel-style downlights.

Wattage & Output Comparison

UD96 is available in 7W and 12W — select by required cut-out size, ceiling void depth and target beam intensity.

12WΦ90mm cut-out

Power Efficacy Luminous Flux PF/DF Overall Size Cut-Out
7W 80 LM/W 560 LM 0.5/0.7 Φ90×H90mm Φ75mm
12W 80 LM/W 960 LM 0.5/0.7 Φ107×H112mm Φ90mm

What You’ll Need for a Sourcing Decision

The details that usually come up between a first sample request and a container order. Exact figures depend on wattage, CCT mix and destination — confirm with our sales team for a formal quotation.

Questions Buyers Usually Ask

What’s the practical difference between UD96’s COB source and an SMD downlight?

COB concentrates the light-emitting surface into one small chip, producing a tighter, more directional beam — better for spotlighting a product or feature. SMD spreads output across multiple smaller chips for a softer, more even wash of light, which suits general ambient fill better.

Is UD96 dimmable?

The standard version is non-dimmable. A dimmable driver can be arranged as a custom option — let us know your dimming protocol (TRIAC, 0-10V, DALI) when requesting a quote.

How much ceiling void depth does UD96 need?

The 7W version has an overall height of about 90mm and the 12W version about 112mm, deeper than a typical flat SMD downlight because of the radiator behind the light engine. Confirm your ceiling void clearance before finalizing the spec.

What certification documentation is available?

Test reports and compliance documentation for UD96 are available on request — let us know your destination market and we’ll confirm exactly what applies to your order.

Do you support OEM/ODM and small trial orders?

Yes — branding, housing finish, CCT and beam angle can be customized. Contact our sales team with your target quantity and we’ll confirm MOQ, sample lead time and pricing.

What payment terms and trade terms are available?

T/T and L/C are commonly used, with FOB, EXW or CIF shipping terms depending on your destination port. Get in touch for a formal proforma invoice.
