We keep leaving stairwell lights on 24/7 because nobody wants to chase down who forgot to flip the switch. Is a sensor version actually worth switching to, or is it a gimmick added to justify a higher price?
For a stairwell specifically, it is one of the easier upgrades to justify. You are not paying for a smart home feature, you are paying to stop running a fixture continuously in a space that is only occupied a few minutes an hour. The sensor is built into the lens face itself here, so there is no separate module to wire in, no extra part to fail.
What actually changed compared to the standard version we already stock?
Same body, same 24W, 1600LM output, same round or ellipse choice, same PP construction. The lens goes from a plain diffuser to a single layer white lens with a sensor built into the center. It is a simpler build than the RGB or crystal versions we have looked at before, single light zone, no color options, just automatic on and off.
Radar or infrared? That matters for us because we have had false triggers from HVAC airflow before with cheap PIR units.

Storage rooms and utility corridors, anywhere someone walks through briefly and would otherwise leave a switch on out of habit. I would not put it on a main lobby or a space with constant foot traffic, there is no real saving there and a sensor delay can feel awkward in a busier space.
Anything you would flag before we sample it?
Three things. Sensor type, radar or PIR, confirmed in writing. Detection range and angle, since that determines spacing between fixtures on a corridor run. And whether there is a manual override mode, because some sites still want the option to force the light on during cleaning or maintenance without walking past the sensor repeatedly.
